Philosophy: Training health awareness

Although we live at a time of prosperity, the incidence of chronic diseases like cancer and cardiovascular diseases continues to increase. Thus, prosperity does not guarantee ‘well-being’. Evidently excess is damaging. What can we do to prevent these diseases? After all, prevention is better than cure.

In these days of crisis and cutbacks, preventive health care is becoming increasingly important. However, the current health care system has thus far proven incapable of reversing the increase in chronic diseases. There is a lack of ‘health awareness’, both among the ill and among doctors and policy makers. Fundamental knowledge on ‘living and health’ is lacking. The obvious step is therefore to reteach the ‘laws of life’, and to give people the opportunity to put these laws into practice. Health education and training centres are needed to foster ‘health awareness’. Not just the chronically ill, but trainee students and young doctors in particular would also benefit from practical health demonstrations. Because ‘seeing is believing’ and ‘you can’t start young enough’.

The Acinipo Health Resort provides the chronically ill, people interested in preventive health and doctors the opportunity to take compact training programmes with a focus on education and practising health through self-knowledge.

‘You can’t teach an old dog new tricks’ and ‘age and rigidity’ go hand in hand. Nothing is more difficult than replacing old, sick habits with new, healthy thoughts and habits. Patience and perseverance are needed in order to achieve a successful change in attitude. Briefly moving people from a sick environment to an optimal, healthy environment and literally and figuratively demonstrating health, in part by stimulating all the senses, makes it possible to ‘reset the mind’ so that the mind once again rules over matter.

  • “The body is the instrument where the Spirit manifests and works. The body is the temple of the soul and needs care and development.”
  • “Elke genezing is een zelfgenezing.”
